This weekend, bring some
seva (selfless service) into your physical yoga practice by heading to
Hi-Wire Brewing's Big Top location, where
Pure Yoga Asheville,
Anjali Hot Yoga, and
Inspired Change Yoga will join forces to collect school supplies for kids who might otherwise go without come fall. A ticket for the class, which runs from 5-6:30 pm on Saturday, is a monetary donation (check or cash), one backpack, or a calculator. The event is part of
United Way's larger school supply drive.
The Hi-Wire Big Top (2 Huntsman Place) offers ample space to stretch out in this all-levels practice, led by instructors from the participating studios. The class will be fun and beginner-friendly, warming up into a little bit of flow before cool-down and final rest.
And the inspiration for the event? Laura Juarez, owner of
Pure Yoga Asheville, explains, "As a yoga community, what we do off our mat matters. It is our yoga in action, and we’re excited to collaborate as three yoga studios with Hi-Wire Brewing to make a difference to area kids while having a great time moving on our mats together.”
Stick around after class to enjoy a beverage and some conversation with your fellow yogis.
