This Thursday,
Isis Music Hall hosts the 4th annual
Sound Effects concert, a benefit for
Asheville Music School, from 6-9 pm. This year a 15-piece band comprised of the faculty and students of the AMS will present the Beatles' landmark album
Abbey Road in its entirety.
The evening's events also include a
silent auction and a raffle with prizes that include a day recording a private dinner for four (including wine) by Chef Anthony Cerrato of
Strada Italian at
Echo Mountain Recording Studio. Besides
Abbey Road, the night will feature the AMS Rock Band, the Woodsong Clarinet Choir, and the bestowal of the grand prize to the winner of the AMS Practice-A-Thon, which you know is going to be good. (I hope someone gets a crown.)
Tickets to the event are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. Children under 12 get in for $6 and children 2 and under are free.
Advance tickets are for sale through Isis's website or at the Asheville Music School. All proceeds from the event go straight to AMS, and Isis is donating a portion of dinner sales to the cause as well. You're encouraged to set the mood by arriving early to partake of Isis's delicious culinary fare.
