Ten Asheville bars/restaurants applied to compete in the
2nd Annual Bar Wars AVL presented by
Spirit Savvy Cocktails. They all picked local nonprofits who would benefit $4 from each specialty cocktail they would create and serve for 2 weeks. The special ingredient this year is
Reyka Vodka, hand crafted in the country which was to provide the inspiration for the cocktails:
Iceland. Land of
Bjork and Volcanoes; aquamarine hot springs and Vikings.
With names like "Guakar's Gimlet", "Ulgan", and "Engifermjólk", the participants definitely ran with the concept and showed off their creativity as bartenders and mixologists.
Check out all the entires and their ingredients below, and if you drink, don't miss out on sipping on some this weekened before
Bar Wars AVL comes to a close on Sunday, April 5th.
Don't forget to
VOTE online for any of the cocktails you sample since you help determine who will not only win the People's Choice favorite but who also will be among the finalists competing in the final
Mix Off at Asheville Music Hall on Tuesday, April 7th at 5:30pm for the overall win.
Tickets are just $5 and gets you a sample of the drinks from the 4 chosen finalists.
