This craft fair started in 1948 in Gatlinburg, TN on the grounds of Arrowmont School of Arts & Crafts. The Southern Highlands Craft Guild connected visitors with talented artisans and showed the importance of handicrafts in the life of southern Appalachia. This year, the fair is hosted in downtown Asheville at the Harrah’s Cherokee Center. The
Craft Fair of the Southern Highlands will be held October 14th-17th. The concourse and arena levels of the venue will be filled with artisan booths featuring a variety of craft, from contemporary to traditional in works of wood, clay, glass, and more. Admission is $8 for adults Thursday & Friday and $12 for adults Saturday & Sunday. Children under 12 are free.
