Are you feeling the fall chill, Asheville? We invite you to maximize your chill time by letting us plan your weekend! Here's what we're most excited about. What did we miss? Thursday 10/6 5 Point Adventure Film Festival @ various locations through the weekend Beginning Thursday, this film festival keeps you on your toes and on the edge of your seat with so much more than just movies. The weekend's lineup includes screenings, a river cleanup, outdoor yoga practices, brewery tours, and trail runs. The full lineup is available on the Facebook page (linked in event heading).  2016 Urban Loft + Art Tour @ downtown Asheville 4:30 - 9 pm This benefit for the Asheville Art Museum isn't cheap (tickets start at $50) but it's for a great cause. Spy on the lives of Asheville's loft-living glitterati as you embark on a fascinating tour of historic buildings and their inhabitants. Walking tours begin every 15 minutes starting at 4:30, last 90 minutes, and conclude with a reception.  Velvet and Lace @ Buxton Hall BBQ 10:30 pm The lady bartenders of Asheville are holding it down for another evening of Velvet and Lace, a cocktail night and dance party held at Buxton Hall. This night's theme is the Harvest Moon (oooh!). Friday 10/7 First Friday Artist Talk featuring Julyan Davis @ Blue Spiral  4 pm A talk from renowned Asheville painted Julyan Davis about his decision to leave his native England to paint the American South. Davis's work includes his recent Murder Ballads series, inspired by traditional British Isles songs and updated into a contemporary Appalachian context. See some of Davis's work here. Waiting at the Gates -- New Works by Maxx Feist + Collaborators @ Satellite Gallery  7-10 pm Feist's show features his work and his collaborations with other area artists, including Andy Herod, Jason Krekel, and Marissa Zarrabzadeh. Whimisically dark paintings feature underworld creatures born of fantasy and nightmare.   Saturday 10/8 Vegan Chick'n and Waffles Brunch Pop-Up @ Trade and Lore 8 am - 2 pm Gluten free, vegan, and damn delicious. Featuring corn waffle batter, mushroom gravy, hot sauce, maple syrup, and all the coffee you can dream of. Asheville Darkroom Benefit @ the Mothlight 8 pm A great night for a great cause, this benefit features live sets from Axxa/Abraxas and Morbids, a DJ set, a raffle, a silent auction, and a photobooth. Proceeds go the Asheville Darkroom, which just moved into its brand spankin' new space at the Refinery Creator Space!  Asheville Vaudeville Gets Political @ Toy Boat Community Art Space 7:30 - 12 midnight Walter Beals of juggling troupe Forty Fingers and a Missing Tooth is the emcee for the latest Asheville Vaudeville evening at Toy Boat! The schedule includes puppets, bellydancing, clowns, and a rock opera! Sunday 10/9 Asheville Zombie Walk @ downtown Asheville 5:30 pm The annual Zombie Walk begins at Aston Park and ends somewhere downtown. Put on your best undead duds and head on over to shamble and scream at passers-by. Kids are welcome.
